P365: Day 6

Weekly Theme: Lights
Where: Casa Gonzales, dining room
When: Around 9:00 PM
Who/What: Candles and vintage cloth napkins
Why/How: No flash. Telephoto lens.
Wrong: A little dark, and shot from too high an angle, I think. For this particular arrangement, I think I had too many variations in height -- need to learn to compose my "still-lifes" better. Still, my goal was to get all five flames in one frame, and I did, so this is essentially a success.

Where: Casa Gonzales, living room

When: Around 10:15 PM

Who/What: Christmas tree with lights & ornaments

Why/How: No flash. Telephoto lens. Focused on jingle bell on right side.

Wrong: You can see the light cord, but otherwise nothing.

P365: Day 4

Weekly Theme: Lights

Where: Outlet in Shae's bedroom

When: Around 7:30 PM

Who/What: LED color-changing snowman nightlight

Why/How: No flash. Used stepstool for balance.

Wrong: Probably should have used more telephoto lens.

Better Late Than Never ...

I have some entries to for my Project 365, which I assure you I actually started on time -- but we were in Pittsburgh over the weekend, and I didn't have a chance to get anything posted. So at some point tonight, after work but before bed, they will appear -- and they will be backdated to when the photos were actually taken. Do not be alarmed.

Where: The Whitehouses' living room, Wexford, Pa.

When: Around 12:30 PM

Who/What: Christmas tree with lights & ornaments

Why/How: Laid upside down on floor under tree. Shot from underneath.

Wrong: Nothing! Love this shot of a perfect tree.

P365: Day 2

Weekly Theme: Lights

Where: Rite-Aid Celebration of Lights, Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh

When: Around 6:00 PM

Who/What: "Laser light tunnel"

Why/How: Riding in the jack-back of an SUV. No flash.

Wrong: Did not wear seat belt.

P365: Day 1

Where: Parterre de Broderie, Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh

When: Around 7:00 PM

Who/What: Votive candles, poinsettias

Why/How: Wanted to keep front votive in focus. No flash.

Wrong: Didn't use tripod, so picture is blurry.
